Isabel Schröder started her career as a theatre director 1999 mainly working in Germany. After some years she became curious of working with other disciplines, and changed to a masters program at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Amsterdam. The following years she made pieces including a variety of artists, when in 2011 she turned finally to music theatre.

Assisting directors as Pierre Audi, Kati Mitchell and Johan Simons she started as music theatre director with dutch groups like Diamantfabriek, Silbersee and NJO.

Last year she directed a Grande Finale for the National Opera with soloists and NedPho, and a matinee with scenes from Jacques Offenbach´s work. Recently she worked with students of the Tilburg Hogeschool Fontys on Macbeth and Rossini-Lieder.

Her work stands out through originality, well made Personenregie and a special way with staging large groups.
